Sixty miles southwest of the city of Kodiak lies a narrow fjord. Named after the fur trader, hunter, and guide, Peter Larsen of Ugan Island, Larsen Bay is rich with beauty and history. Thought to have inhabitants as early as 2000 years ago, this area has an ancient spirit that embodies Alaska’s incredible wilderness.
We are so grateful to call Larsen Bay the home of our top saltwater fishing lodge. Located off of Uyak Bay, these pristine waters offer some of the best fishing and wildlife around. Along with catching big fish, seeing whales, otters, seals, and other beautiful wildlife is always possible. We have all five species of Pacific salmon, halibut, lingcod, and rockfish of all kinds. We can even pull up a crab pot to enjoy some of the resident crustaceans. The beautiful landscape not only supplies stunning views, but it also makes it possible to have calm water more often with the surrounding mountains providing cover.
We love introducing others to the wonders of the area. Taking in the sights, sounds, and smells of Larsen Bay allows one to connect to this ancient place, and that’s only the beginning. Our commitment to luxury only enhances this experience. The lodge offers 5-star dining, expert captains, and top-notch gear, plus extremely comfortable lodging. It would be a disservice to have anything less.
Even amid the unknowns of Covid, we know that the 2021 season will be a hit. We are committed to being safe and following protocol to keep our guests safe, all while enjoying this magical place.
